... a design that screams “inspired by a 15-year old Freelander.”

I’m with you. That front end definitely evokes the image of one of these.

I mean the 15 year old Freelander is not a bad-looking car. Actually, I think it looks pretty cool.

It does look cool, for a car worth a few grand

Ugh, I miss 2 door SUVs.

And the Freelander just looks like a first gen Honda CR-V from the late 90s.

I like the Freelander more than I should. Especially the 2-door in yellow

wasn’t the Freelander/LR2 mostly a Mercury Mariner Mazda Tribute Ford Escape?? Where is the 2dr Escape?

Same here. Just keep thinking in reality this HAS to be significantly better than that steaming pile of garbage, right even though it looks way too similar ?!

I always love the universality of European plate frames.

And they look to have about the same amount of ground clearance.

There was a 3-door Explorer contemporary with the first gen Escape.

yep, a friend in h igh school had one and it was my first time driving stick., that is a different truck thought. IF the Freelander and Escape shared platforms, Ford should have made a 2 dr Escape
